As a strong community of LAPD wives, we provide compassionate support to active LAPD wives, officers and families as we navigate the unique life of the law enforcement family.
Our police officers have the weight of the world on their shoulders as they protect us. But we have the power to ease the stresses put on our officers and their families. The volunteer-led Wives of Los Angeles Police Officers advocates for officers, along with their spouses and families, to allow our homes to thrive in spite of the daily challenges we face as law enforcement families. By empowering the family, we empower officers to focus on their oath and come home from patrol safely to their families.
Families are the cornerstone of LAPD. We want our families to know they are not alone in their struggles. Our tireless commitment to bring your family peace and encouragement is unwavering. When one of our families is affected by crisis, tragedy, issues in the home, or grief our wives will step in and provide support items, meals, gift baskets, and comfort resources.
Police officers are the unsung heroes of this city. We know that the job is stressful, demanding, and dangerous. We work to respond to officers, their stations, and their families in times of need, and to support and recognize them for their sacrifice. Initiatives such as meals, snacks, and posters made by our families show a deep gratitude to our officers. Participation at station events is also key when supporting our officers to display their community involvement or camaraderie among their peers.
Our mission revolves around responding to wives and families in times of tragedy and challenges, rejoicing with them in times of triumph, supporting mental health, and encouraging every spouse to be the strength behind the badge. We have created a space where wives can come together to have a sense of community, to feel physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe, and to be reassured they’re not alone. Whether it’s by a virtual workshop, wife gathering, a simple word of encouragement, or motivation to get through the day, our wives are here for each other.
